MESSAGES FROM OUTSIDE VOLUME 1
================================

===!WARNING!===
When you go outside, you can travel as far as you want. Use caution, however, because there is no guarantee that heading into any given area is safe, and you can unknowingly push the boundaries beyond their stable limit. In this event, returning to your original entrance point may become impossible. Inexperienced travelers should always use a guide.

It has been known for some time now that there is more to the world than we can regularly experience. It is also known that there are gaps through which matter may accidentally fall from our physical existance into another. Most of the locations of these gaps change over time, and may disappear or reappear unpredictably. Due to the difficulty in tracking these gaps and openings, a comparatively small number of reliable entrances useful to living creatures are known. Some have become regular passageways for travel and trade, and even some migrating animals. There is no specific rule regarding how far one is allowed to wander off the known paths, though doing so is typically to the detriment of the individual who decides to take the scenic route. The environments can become deceptively difficult to navigate due to their tendency to be altered by added presences, especially when physical resources are stretched further.
